Despite her impressive achievements across multiple fields, Una Marson had been all but erased from British and Caribbean history until the efforts of organisations such as Decolonising the Archive and the Black Cultural Archives began to recover her extensive legacy as well as her role as an important theatrical voice. With ‘Pocomania’, Marson explored Jamaican nationalist sentiments and class tensions, as well as notions of cultural belonging and a strong affinity for West African spiritual practices in the face of British colonialism.
