I am a dramaturg, writer, researcher and arts producer based in London. I am currently the Literary Manager & Lead Dramaturge at new writing venue, the Bush Theatre, working across artistic strategy, programming and talent development, and overseeing our slate of commissions.
Before starting a career in theatre, I read Classics and English Literature at the University of Leeds. Since then I have worked extensively with the Young Vic (acting as the theatre’s Associate Dramaturg between 2022 and 2024), as well as with the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Southbank Centre, and the Barbican Centre, among other arts institutions. I have been a reader for the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize and the Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting.
My work as a dramaturg is varied; leading and collaborating on projects exploring diverse topics from palliative care to generative AI, and I am equally interested in devising experimental new work and reimagining canonical classics. I have meaningful experience with artist development, and have worked closely with both writers and directors on their creative vision for storytelling by offering a precise and inquisitive eye.
As a freelance producer I’ve frequently worked with the Southbank Centre, supporting on the advancing and delivery of their site-wide multi-artform festivals; across music, performance & dance, literature and public programming projects. I also write and produce projects for the screen, and am co-director of a small film production company, Midnight Eye. I was a Barbican Young Film Programmer 2019/2020, and have acted as a production assistant on several commissions for Sky Arts.
I co-edited and researched the book, Decolonising the Theatre Space: A Conversation, published by the Bloomsbury imprint Methuen Drama in 2024.
